Most clergy I know crater after Sunday services and obligations. Such was the case last weekend after presiding at a eucharist in a tiny, stuffy house. (I was dripping by the end of the second verse of the first hymn.) That would sound simple enough but the night before I'd been up to 3.00 at a vigilía with the young adults of the congregation and then had ridden in the back of a pick-up truck (muy salvadoreño) 105 minutes to the place where we were holding church.
So when we arrived at the centro pastoral Cristo Rey in Jiquilisco, I migrated immediately to one of the two hammocks for some rest.
Likewise, it is time to hang it up in order to be functional for church tomorrow.
