Here's the forecast for tonight:
Frost: Temperatures will fall to near or below freezing late tonight. Temperatures will fall to the 20s Wednesday night, with cold spots near 20, producing a hard frost and freeze. Reading will be near or below freezing Thursday night. The meterologist just said we'll have a killer frost tonight. There will also be snow flurries over the higher elevations tonight. It is raw and rainy outside. Reasons why the garden doesn't go in until after Memorial Day.
And on this day in 1874, it was snowing again in northern New England. The final installment of snow in a very snowy month brought another 10 inches of snow to Woodstock, VT, raising the snow on the ground to over 30 inches. 12 inches of snow dumped on the village of Strafford, VT, where snow remained visible in the woods through the 27th of May.
[update mid afternoon] There are reports of snow accumulation above the 1000' elevations in the Adirondacks and Greens. Ayup, it's spring heyuh.

Someone very stupid (that would be me) was captivated by the recent spate of warm weather and bought about $200 of perennials and put them in.
I feel sick over it as I await our frost. It is expected to go down to 29. I may try to salvage a couple of the more expensive ones - the hydrangea and the butterfyly bush.
Dumb me.
This is my first Albany winter; I was in Nyack. Not so different, but different enough.
It will be cold by you!
And at midnight there are snowflakes at my house at 1800 feet. Huh.
