Jolly for them

About 300 Episcopalians gathered at Christ Church in Mt. Pleasant, a suburb of Charleston, approved four of five measures that, among other things, declared General Convention Resolutions D025 and C056 "as null and void."

So what? They aren't. These people just think the resolutions are. It's shell games.

'In an August 13 sermon, Bishop Lawrence said the diocese is engaged in a doctrinal "war," adding that "Imperialistic Episcopalians ... are coming to a neighborhood near you" and encouraged listeners to "wake up and choose sides."

'He has said he is not considering breaking away from the Episcopal Church, at least not for the present, but hopes rather to "awaken" the 30,000 members of his diocese to the challenges he perceives and then to similarly engage the larger church."'

May God keep this man far, far away. I am so glad I voted against consent. I just did not believe what he said at the time about upholding the doctrine and discipline of TEC. The first resolution of SC clearly negates that.

I am sorry for all those who have been manipulated and fed outright lies about TEC -- things such as we never prayed at GC or we do not believe the Creeds. Such BS.

And Canon Harmon's unctuous words about saving a marriage or that "This is best seen as a radical statement of loving protest. It's clear that the existing mechanisms are not working," ring false. He says, these actions are "a withdrawal from some of the national councils of the church. It's about as far as you can get but still be in." This logic defies reason. Why should the councils of the church (not national by the way but churchwide) consider their membership if they are working against TEC and calling us apostate? Ah, but they have been working toward this for a very, very long time.

The whole thing is sad.

Pray for the people of South Carolina who want to remain REAL Episcopalians.

What a gas bag Bp. Lawrence is. I read to page 4 of his speech and couldn't take any more. His policy is to stay in the church, all the while undermining it. Is that his way of keeping his vows?

Bishop Lawrence has always been a ¨gas bag¨...I think it´s hysterically funny, in a very sick way, that the emotional overloads of South Carolina are buying his Bakersfield/Schofield victimhood...such whistling in the darkened corners of pretend...and they like that stuff because of somekind of spooky approval to make it ok to guardians of righteousness...whew, deep.
