15 January 2008

Lord, it is night.

At the end of a long day there isn't that much in me left to write.

My calendar doesn't look like this because I have a sticker for the Anglican Episcopal Church of El Salvador on it as well as a sticker of the country's seal. It helps distinguish my calendar from other people's though most people use palm pilots now.

At this hour, an almost half moon faces me, high in the western sky.

As for today...

clergy day — 20% of the clergy, if that, showed up for clergy day which is a four-hour chunk of the day

followed by chatting with two people

then coming home and working with the parish treasurer on 2008 budget and the end of year 2007 actuals

and then two-hour vestry meeting at which we passed a four-figure deficit budget for 2008. At least we got it down from a five-figure deficit and the proposed deficit is less than half of that five-figure deficit

and now unwinding to go to bed.

The hardest part of the day was spending six hours sitting on metal folding chairs. My leg muscles have total spazzed out and tightened up. Tomorrow, rowing will be interesting.

But it is night. What has been done has been done; what hasn't hasn't. Let it be.
