What a quandry... do I start reading Frank Rich's latest, The Greatest Story Ever SOLD, or Kerry Egan's Fumbling: A Journey of Love, Adventure, and Renewal on the Camino de Santiago? Do I go with the current political mess, or retreat into another person's journey on the Camino de Santiago, something that is so dear to my heart since I have walked almost half of the Camino in Spain (beginning and end) and the entire Via Podensis (Le Puy to Saint Jean-Pied-de-Port and then over the Pyrenees into Roncesvaux/Roncesvalles, Spain)? Such a dilemma. I won't even peek into the book I am giving my father for his birthday, Cherie Burn's The Great Hurricane 1938... he was 14 at the time and I want to know how the book squares with his memories.

It's 35 out, so it's time to get into bed. The cats will be sure to join me.
