Don't read any further unless you are ready to have your blood boil.
'According to attendees at a recent meeting in the Diocese of Fort Worth, Bishop Jack Iker said he would take communion from an immoral gay priest who was male before he would take it from a moral priest who was a woman. This is because with the male, he would be assured the consecration was “valid,” which is not possible with any woman.'
For the whole story, go to Katie Sherrod's Desert Child.
And when you finish reading, pray for her and all the brave souls who have been fighting for YEARS to achieve gender equality at all orders of ministry in that diocese.

Jack Iker doesn't believe that God sends the Holy Spirit to teach us "new things" when we are ready. He is obviously fearful of losing his control over his God. Sad.
Sweet Lord have mercy. What else can I say?
It is bad enough in my church, but in yours, which already has taken the steps forward.
I am so sorry.
Perhaps we should pray for Bp. Iker, too.
Ay yi yi...how long, O Lord, indeed?
