Even beyond prayers for hope (though always needed) right now, Naomi needs tons of prayers for the alleviation of pain. She has been bedridden for the past four days with horrible pain in her groin. We will know more tomorrow but for right now, she needs prayers for the pain.
Her family needs prayers, too, as they walk helplessly alongside Naomi, suffering in their own way. They may not bear the physical pain, but they do bear the emotional pain of watching someone they love suffer so. They need prayers for stamina because the daily 110 mile drive five days a week is also wearing them out.
Obviously I have not been able to talk with Naomi; she is in too much pain for that, so I checked in with her mother this afternoon.
No one should have to go through this. In two not polite words: cancer sucks.
So, get all your prayer networks going. Thanks.

Prayers in great abundance from this place.
I will add her name to our prayer list at church and pray at daily mass for her.
It sucks and it's scary. Prayers, of course.
And I offer up my prayers, and will add Naomi to our prayer list.
Dear Lord, hold Naomi close under your wing. Lift the pain from her, we pray, as you rout the disease that attacks her. Calm her fears and anxieties, and those of her family. Pull them close to you, and lend them your strength, we pray.
