Vacation follies

Here's a light posting for the last night of 2007 (at least for now).

Here is the tree that was so savagely chopped down last week. Compa wrestled it into place (she has bruises to show) and there it sits, lording over the 'living room.' Remember, the total house is 18x18 feet. Every inch counts, which is why the tree gets hoisted onto a file cabinet. This shot is taken from the loft at the other end of the house.

This has ended up being one of the snowiest Decembers on record. The Fairbanks Museum in Saint Johnsbury has gotten already 50+ inches. Last year, their total was 87.

We got about six inches overnight. More to come tomorrow. The snowblower works to a point.

The deck after I shovelled part of it and before the rest of the roof dumped.

Looking down to the pond between a maple and a cherry.

Looking down to a stand of birches that are pink/grey at this time of year.

How unlike last December when there was no snow at all.
