So this is what the "Orthodox" are thinking

in regards to the subcommittee's report on TEC's response to the WR...

per Ruth Gledhill of the London Times (hardly a progressive writer):

"[I]nitial responses from the orthodox are not promising. 'Chilling,' is how Kendall Harmon described it, warning that schism now was even closer than before. This report would have the effect of propelling TEC further away from the centre and hasten any breach that is looming, he said. The responses on the conservative site StandFirm support Kendall's analysis. And I love this analysis from the GetReligion site, from which this 'Anglican Bomb' picture is taken: 'Once again the Africans pray, the Americans pay and the British write the resolutions.'"

They are consistent if anything. They so want schism, no?

And isn't that a cheerful, lovely image?

It sort of reminds me of what one person said this summer at General Convention, how they were ready to fight and keep fighting.

Um, so much for reconciliation.

At least per reports (see Jake's Place), our presiding bishop was seated today. May angels surround her.
