A Wonderful Christmas Present

What a wonderful Christmas present! Compa and I were given an amaryllis this past Christmas Day. It's the first time I have ever had one of these plants. It has suddenly come to life this week and the blooms keep on coming like a grand finale of a fireworks display. This was taken a bit earlier and there are now two more blooms that will emerge.

Somehow, after all the craziness of this week and particularly of this weekend, before heading off to more craziness, it seems fitting to put to bed this week with an image of something beautiful, something of God's creation whose sole existence is to flourish.

BTW, this flower survived being in an unheated house at 45 degrees for five ays. It is more hardy than advertised.

And thanks to the givers. It truly is a delight.
