Friday cat blogging

No lack for photos of the unholy three (as my cat sitter calls them)... perhaps more interesting than more snow pictures (they will come tomorrow).

Young Guy loves to rub his head against my feet, whether they are in shoes or not. He has a foot fetish, especially when I have gotten out of the shower. That big basket in the background (right and I no longer what country from the African continent it hails) is one that I got in PA at the Moravian seminary, then talked my Clinical Pastoral Education supervisor into letting me stuff it in the back of her Toyota Camry (vintage 1988). Once back in Jersey City, I then had to get it back to Manhattan on the PATH train and then walk three long blocks and three short blocks back to the seminary. So I did what any good woman would do: I carried it on my head. In NYC I don't think I turned any heads. I've never regretted all the hassle lo these many years later.

Young Guy discovered the red kitty igloo for the first time this week. He took over it when La Doyenne and Orange Guy were elsewhere in the house. He clearly is giving me an 'I dare you' look to scratch his tempting furry belly. I didn't.

Meanwhile, this is how things have been mostly for the past two days: a love nest for Orange Guy and La Doyenne who look out at me with some horror because I keep flashing this obnoxious light in their faces. They must have wondered why I was lying down on the floor next to them... and then they'd find out with the flash.

La Doyenne's look changes from one of annoyance to almost one of 'We've been caught in fragrant délit!' Young Guy knows better than to try to get into the igloo with them. First, it can't hold three felines; second, he'd get a snout full of claws from La Doyenne. They are friendly enough but not THAT friendly.

Lastly, Orange Guy decided he would play with the cord to my camera this morning (after he stole my chair from me). He's out of focus because the camera cord isn't long enough for me to back up but it is a typical grab-it pose. He was in a cage by himself at the humane society when I first saw him. Above his head was a cage with a mama cat and two eight week-old kittens. The kittens would reach down and wave their paws in front of Orange Guy who would bat at them, reaching out of his cage. He still loves to grab at a moving object if there's something between him and it — a chair back, chair leg or even my leg.
