The day is almost over but today is Young Guy's sixth birthday. These felines grow up so fast and they don't stay with us nearly long enough. La Doyenne is 10 1/2, Orange Guy is 8... they're almost all geriatrics. I look at them each day and know how precious our time together is and how short it can be.
So to celebrate Young Guy's birthday, as it were, despite his becoming Sid Vicious with catnip, I broke out a brand-new catnip pad (made in Maine) for him to enjoy. Within 15 minutes he had chomped a hole into the material (he wads it up, yanks on it and tears it). I have another photo of him beating up La Doyenne who dared to come over to see what the new pad was.
Happy birthday, YG. May you hang around for many more (and La Doyenne and Orange Guy too).
