It doesn't matter that it is Maundy Thursday and the first week in April. Snow knows no month. It will snow when it wants to snow. So, once again the ground is white. Makes hunting for Easter eggs on Sunday all the more challenging (not that we are doing it this year but have had egg hunts in two feet of snow). And surely the snow makes the day all the more festive (!).
I got up early to take photos before the snow started to fall off the trees but the two people who shovel the ramps had already gotten there. Good! I am not sure my wrist would appreciate having to shovel.
It is still lightly snowing, a gentle funnelling of white stuff floating down from the sky. It is pretty.

This type of snow is akin to the sugar/egg white frosting one makes for sponge cakes. It sticks to everything and then plops off onto the ground. Even the electrical lines are covered with snow. So far, we still have our electricity, which is a small blessing.
Schools started late this morning.
I watch the cars go by and see from the amounts of snow on their roofs (dumb not to remove it because then it blows into the car behind it) that the hills got maybe a foot of snow.
I am trying to take it easy mentally so that I can carefully get through all the preparations for the evening liturgy. The sermon is simmering on the back burner. Right now, bulletins.
[21.15] Back from the Maundy Thursday liturgy. It's a lovely snowy night, just the type night we would love to have on Christmas Eve, a perfect Hollywood night. Gentle flakes filter down from the sky in the umpteenth snow squall we've had today. Crazy weather but it does make things all the more still just as the Triduum invites us to be more still.
