My lavender fiend

I love lavender and grow it in the garden both here and at the house downstream. I always pick it at the end of summer and dry it and then put it in vases or coffee mugs around the house.

I have long known that Young Guy loves lavender because he goes crazy after I wash my hair (with lavender-scented shampoo from l'Occitaine de Provence).

Tonight, he bumped off some little bits of lavender from a stem that is in a cup on my kitchen table. (Good thing they didn't go into my wine, though the cup smelled somewhat of lavender.) So I decided I would see what would happen if I were to smoosh the grains of lavender between my thumb and first finger and then run it on his head.

He was delirious with joy and spent the next five minutes bumping his head against my fingers. So he is my lavender fiend. (I trust it is not poisonous.)

For me, this is far more relaxing than commenting on the day I have had (full of church work, paper, email and meetings) or the current political or church scene. For more meaty conversation, there are many, many other sites to where one can go.
