So here's my little friend this morning before I haul him off to the vet's for his surgery.
Usually when he pirouettes on the banister, he can be guaranteed of getting his meal. But this morning, things were different. He got nothing. La Doyenne and Miss Agatha got little (because they also are going to the vet's) and only Young Guy got his usual fare.
Will my little friend come back with an intact left ear (he also has a lump there)? Will he come home with an Elizabethan collar?
Poor guy. He feels fine now; he doesn't know he's going to feel awful later on. I feel so sad for him but we have to excise that canser before it excises him.

Update at 13.00
The vets called to say that he is out of surgery; he did very well. The ear they left alone because they think the lump is cartilage. The vet took out a large margin on his neck and they'll send it off to the pathologist. He now has clean teeth but they did have to extract a rear molar. So the poor guy has stitches in his mouth, stitches in his neck, and has got to be a bit sore. They'll send him home with pain killers and antibiotics. I'll go get him in three hours. But for now he was sitting in a basket on a warming pad in the recovery area of the vets' office.

And here's Agatha after her visit this morning. They took blood (we're trying to figure out why her breath is sewer breath) which is why she has the green corban bandage on her hind quarters.
I am ready for a nap.
